P7BC Volume Investigations

26th Nov 2020

This week in P7BC we were looking at volume. The pupils conducted a series of active learning based activities to help increase their level of understanding and knowledge.

Firstly, we looked at building shapes using cubes. The pupils were then tasked with building several different cuboids. The task was to find the volume of one layer, the number of layers and the volume of the cuboid in cubic centimetres.

The pupils then extended their knowledge by thinking about the number of cubes needed to fill the boxes using their understanding of volume!

Everyone showed great team work skills, where they worked together, sharing their thoughts, ideas and opinions. We then shared our methods of working out the answers at the end of the session! Terrific critical thinking was shown!

Well done everyone :)
