Camphill PS celebrates being 50 years old!

23rd Mar 2018

On Friday 23rd March 2018 we had a special celebration to mark 50 years of Camphill Primary School. Mr Paul Frew came into school to open our morning by telling us all about how Camphill got its name, we also sang Happy Birthday and cut our delicious cake made by our school cook Mrs Keenan. After this all classes got to work - planting bulbs and doing lots of work around life in 1967 and around the number 50! Then just before lunch we all came back to the hall to place our class objects in the Time Capsule!!! All the boys & girls have agreed that when they are all aged between 54-61 in another 50 years they are going to come back to Camphill and tell the Principal that they buried a time capsule with objects and information in it from 2018! We also planted a beech tree to mark the occasion! Thank you to Charlotte, Mrs McCullagh and the Eco Team for organising today and to the PTA for funding all the plants. (Also, thank you to Andy, our Building Supervisor for helping to dig lots of holes!) After our super picnic lunch (which had to be inside because of the weather!) we all got together to look at photos from our old Camphill school building right up to the building of our current school building! Everyone then went home with a medal to mark the occasion and a piece of cake! What a super 50th day we had! Thank you again to the PTA funds for paying for all the bulbs and medals! Lots more photos of class activities are on the CLASS web pages!
