What is a Food Bank?

30th Apr 2019

We had a very informative talk this morning by a lady called Janice. She came to talk to us about food banks. She explained why food banks are necessary and how they operate. We were shocked to learn that one in every five children in Ballymena are living in food poverty. She explained how we could help in practical ways. Mrs. McLarnon linked food poverty to our work on Children’s Rights. She has some ideas for how Camphill Primary could help others at Christmas. The Article linked to food poverty is:

Article 24. children have a right to nutritious food.

This is the Article we are focusing on for May.
