P7AS School Council Voting
Yesterday we listened to candidate speeches from eleven children in our class who are interested in becoming School Council representatives this year.
A lot of work had gone into preparing our PowerPoint presentations, posters, speeches, bookmarks, badges and stickers. Well done to all of the children and any adults they had helping them! We were very impressed with the candidates.
Just before lunch today, we exercised our right to vote, Article 12 of UNCRC states, ‘Every child has the right to exercise their views…and wishes.’ We voted for two candidates and posted our slips in the ballot box. This was a secret ballot.
The votes will be counted and our new School Council representatives will be announced in assembly next week.
We are excited to find out the result of the vote and for some of us to start our new jobs!
