P7AS Boat Experiment

2nd Feb 2024

As part of our Unsinkable theme, we carried out an experiment today to see what kind of boat design could hold the most pennies before sinking.

We were each given a square of tinfoil and asked to design a boat.  We then had to guess how many pennies it would hold before sinking.  Once tested, we recorded our result and had to go away and improve our design, using more tinfoil if necessary.  We then tested our boats again with the new and improved design and recorded the number of pennies it held before sinking.  Most of us noticed an improvement in the buoyancy of our boats. 🛳️
