P7AS at The Ulster American Folk Park
9th Oct 2018
We had a very enjoyable day at The Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh today. As we learn about the famine in Ireland and the emigration of many of its people to the ‘New World’ in America, our visit helped us to understand what life was like back in the 1840s compared with our lives today.
We visited the Hughes, Campbell and Mellon houses as well as the Weaver’s Cottage in the Irish part of the park. Then we took a journey on a very cramped and atmospheric ship to arrive in America where we visited the Log Cabin and the Pennsylvanian Farmhouse.
A great day was had by all!
