P4JC World Book Day
P4JC had a fantastic World Book Day today!
Everyone came to school dressed up in special outfits as a piece of vocabulary.
We started the morning off with a photo and then joined in with Gary from Core Kids with some World Book Day themed PE.
Then we went to the book fair where some of us found it tricky to choose a new book as there were so many to pick from!
After break we read our library book and wrote about our costumes.
We read a new book called The Word Collector about a boy called Jerome who loved to collect and learn lots and lots of new words.
In the afternoon we thought about the Supertato books and designed our own Potato character each.
We all took turns telling the class what our special word was as well.
We found out more about our rights and how World Book Day was launched in 1995 so that children all around the world could celebrate reading and how good it is for us.
We really enjoyed the World Book Day song by MC Grammar.
We had a brilliant World Book Day today and are really looking forward to the book exchange next Friday!
Our World Book day activities link to our RRS work and the following Articles in the UNCRC:
