P4 visit The Amazing Journey Bible Exhibition

9th May 2024

Today The Amazing Journey Bible Exhibition came to school and we went up to the hall to listen to James and the team tell us lots of stories from the Bible.

First we heard about Saul from the book of Acts in the New Testament. Then we heard about a man called Stephen who told people about Jesus. Next we heard how Saul met Jesus on the Road to Damascus when he became blind. Then we heard about Ananias who travelled to Damascus to meet with Saul at Judas’ house. God healed Saul and he changed what he thought and went on to follow Jesus. He even changed his name and then was called Paul.
After this Paul went on to travel with Silas around lots of different places to tell people the good news about Jesus. We heard how they met a lady called Lydia in Philipi and went to stay at her house where they set up a church. He ended up in prison but escaped after an earthquake. Lots of people heard about Jesus before Paul left to go to Corinth (which is now known as Greece) where he met Priscilla and her husband Aquila and they made tents. Then Paul ended up in prison again but this time he was taken in a boat with other prisoners to go to Rome. There was a big storm and the ship was damaged but everyone was safe because God was in control. Paul wrote lots of letters to his friends to help them follow Jesus and we can still read these now in the Bible for ourselves.

We really enjoyed finding out more about the people in the book of Acts. After the stories we were able to take turns at dressing up in costumes like people would have worn in Bible times and we also had the choice to taste some food they may have eaten too like flatbreads, raisins and pineapple.

The Amazing Journey Team have given us a little pack to bring home which is in our pouches tonight. We had a great morning, have a look at our photos below!
