P4 take part in Numeracy Day
This week is ‘Maths Week Ireland’ and to celebrate we had a day filled with Numeracy.
We came to school dressed up in a Numeracy related outfit and completed lots of fun and practical Maths activities throughout the day. We enjoyed using the iPads, playing board games, working with clocks and money, as well as creating 2D shape pictures.
We all enjoyed a visit from Tracey who is the manager at Slemish 'n' the Braid Credit Union. She told us all about her job and how she uses numbers every day when she looks after the accounts and money in the Credit Union. We thought about what we might spend some money on and the difference between needs and wants. Then we talked about how we could spend our money or save some of it up to buy a bigger or special item.
Thanks to everyone for making such a great effort today!
