Our Primary 4 News
It busy, busy, busy in Primary 4.
In Numeracy we are enjoying learning how to multiply and divide. It is great! Miss. Service and Mr. Mairs have been teaching us how these two operations are the opposite of one another. We had had lots and lots of fun tumbling our tables. Did you know that you can make four different tables from any single table?
In Literacy we are learning about lots of different types of words. We have learned how to make and use contractions. These are two words that have been joined together to make a new word. Some letters are left out and an apostrophe is put in their place. We have also been learning about compound words. These are also words that are made from two words joined together. The difference is that this time the two words join together to become one long word. It was a little confusing at the start but we have all got it now!
In the classroom we are continuing our World Around Us theme of Houses and Homes. We had lots of fun designing and making a model of our local environment for the Camphill Eco Day on Thursday 6th April. We made little model houses, a school with a playground and play park, trees, fences, roads and even a car park. The paint, glue, stones and felt got everywhere so we had lots of tidying up to do! When we were finished we placed everything in our Primary 4 box in the school grounds. If you get a chance to visit please stop and take a look.
