Our new 'Rights Respecting School' committee in Camphill PS
Today marked a very important occasion. Primary 3 - Primary 7 'Rights Respecting School' reps met to discuss their role and duties along with some tasks to be carried out before Easter.
The agenda included:
* Who/what are UNICEF
* How it came about
* A definition of Rights / Convention / Articles
* Why Rights are important
* The role of adults
* The A. B. C .D. E. Principles
* Article 28 The Right to an Education.
The Committee members plan to disseminate this information to their class and heard about the competition to replace our current school mascot - 'Rights Respecting Riley'.
Well done to the children involved today- they behaved maturely and met the prospect of responsibility with enthusiasm!
