Investigating Friction
1st Feb 2019
Today Primary 3WS had great fun learning all about friction. We discovered that friction is a force and that it acts to slow down a moving car. We used five ramps, five cars and five different surfaces to examine which surface caused the car to slow down the most. We tested white plastic, sandpaper, black rubber, carpet and black corroflute. We discussed the importance of a fair test and took all the necessary steps to ensure that our experiment was fair. Today our results showed that the carpet caused the greatest amount of friction and the black rubber caused the least.
