Internet Safety Day 2024

6th Feb 2024

To summarise the great 👍 day we had....

We were as busy as a bee 🐝
Learning to continue to use ICT safely......

What great discussions we had this afternoon, linking ICT to our RRS work. We began by considering two articles-

Article 17
We have the right to access reliable  information from a variety of sources.....

Would you believe we listened to a story about a very cute duck who had amazing friends ,and gained valuable lessons on how to use the internet in a safe and useful manner?
These wonderful friends were able to plan and send out invitations to a surprise party 🥳 for the duck.
How wonderful the internet can be when we need to source and distribute information.

Article 19

Children have the right to be protected from violence, abuse and neglect.....

Again through discussion and looking at age appropriate resources, we were able to identify valuable lessons about using the internet safely. The key points we discussed were:
- always let an adult 🧑 know when you are on the internet
- don’t engage in unsupervised chat online
- tell an adult if something on the internet is worrying you

Have a look at some of our photographs below.
