Fabulous Pharaohs in P5JD/FG
14th Dec 2021
Look at our fantastic Pharaoh headdresses!
In our topic we have learned that this headdress was known as a Nemes crown. It was a striped cloth that covered the entire back of the head and neck. Some Egyptologists think that it’s meant to look a little like a lion’s mane. In the centre, at the front, is a uraeus. The uraeus is an upright cobra which was meant to represent the fact that the Pharaoh was ready to strike his enemies at any time.
We had lots of fun painting, creating and wearing our headdresses.
