Eco Day 2024 in P3SG 🐞 🌷 🐝

26th Apr 2024

Today was Eco Day and we all had such a great day. Our theme was pollinators and our chosen creature was ladybirds. We had worked so hard this week in preparation for today making our ladybirds from plastic bottles, pebbles and golf balls. Today was the day that we got to put it all together in our P3 garden box. We started off today by listening to a very informative talk from the Eco team about work that they have been involved in this academic year. We then headed out to the greenhouse to plant some sunflower seeds. Afterwards we went outside and put all of our ladybirds into our special box. We all felt so proud of how it looked as a finished product. We even managed to escape the heavy rain! We then came back inside and found out all about pollinators, specifically ladybirds. We learned lots of interesting facts about ladybirds that we didn't know before today. Then we all worked together in small groups to make fact sheets about ladybirds. We all worked so well as part of a team and produced some excellent work which we are going to display in our classroom. This week has been busy but it has certainly been a week of working together as a class team! Getting outdoors today was great as we were able to cover so many elements of our Take 5 - including being active and taking notice of the World Around Us. What a great day!
